Summary - There are several theological points. This work seems to have the tone of the gospel of John. The book is not addressed to anyone. The audience is called, "little children" and "beloved". God the father, Jesus the son, and the Holy Ghost are called by name, no one else. Some verses: That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
